I work in Eclipse nearly every day, and I can't begin to tell you how many times I have needed to compress a folder or project for one reason or another. Since tools like Zip and Tar are part of OSX, it is pretty easy to configure Eclipse to package the files for me.
#Drupal has so many modules out there that it can take quite some time to be certain that your idea for a module is unique. GaSP had a few features that I didn't think existed in Drupal. So, I felt obligated to bring them along with me when I migrated the site.
Yes, you're right. This site is no longer "powered by GaSP". Drupal is back, and it's here to stay.
Coding GaSP taught me many things, and has made me a better coder in the process. In fact, I am working on turning a few of my GaSP features into Drupal modules, so other people can use them.
